Download Ubuntu 13.04 Server Edition

1. Download ubuntu-13.04-server-i386.iso – (688MB)
2. Download ubuntu-13.04-server-amd64.iso – (701MB)

Step 1: Download the latest version of Ubuntu Server and burn it to a disk
Step 2: Insert the disk into the CD/DVD drive and boot your PC from it
Step 3: Select your language and then select 'Install Ubuntu Server' on the next menu

Step 4: Select your keyboard layout. If you already know this select no on the Detect Keyboard Layout prompt and enter it manually, if not select yes

Step 5:Type your desired hostname (this is how the server will be seen by different computers) for the server and select continue.
Step 6:Confirm that the timezone is correct
Step 7:Select how you want the disk to be partitioned. There is guided partitioning or you can do it manually, if you are installing alongside another operating system. Select LVM if you think you will need to partition the disk again later.
Step 8:Enter the details for your user account.

Step 9: Select whether you want to encrypt the hard drive or not. Only do this if you are afraid someone might steal the hard drive, if not select no, as it will slow down your server.
Step 10:If you are using a proxy server, enter the details in the next prompt.
Step 11:Select the software you want to install on your server. You can continue without installing any software and install it later if you wish

Step 12:Select yes to install the GRUB Boot loader. Only install this if there are no other operating systems on the machine, as it will overwrite any existing boot loaders.
Step 13:Remove the install disk and finish the installation.
Step 14: Login  

Step 15: Login Succesfull
